As a green and energy-saving road marking device, solar road studs are road safety facilities that use solar photovoltaic panels to convert light energy into electrical energy to power the internal LED light source. They do not require an external power supply and are easy to install. Solar led road stud play an important role in improving road safety, guiding traffic flow, and beautifying the city’s night view. However, any electronic device will inevitably encounter some faults during use, and solar road studs are no exception. In the following article, we will discuss what faults may occur during the use of solar powered road reflectors, as well as the methods of troubleshooting and handling these faults.
1. No light or weak light.
The reason for this situation is generally that the solar road stud’s solar panel is blocked by dust or leaves, etc., which affects the photoelectric conversion efficiency; of course, there are other reasons, such as long-term use leading to battery aging, LED lamp bead aging, etc. If these reasons are eliminated, remember to check whether there is a fault caused by poor circuit connection or short circuit.
2. The light continues to flicker or emits light unstably.
There are generally three reasons for this situation, which we can check one by one. First, the voltage output by the solar panel is affected by the light intensity. When the fluctuation is large, it may cause the LED light to flicker; second, the controller is damaged and the output voltage cannot be stabilized; third, the LED lamp beads are partially damaged, which will cause uneven light emission. After finding the cause, corresponding treatment can be done.
3. The light goes out automatically.
The main reasons for the light going out are: photoresistor failure, battery exhaustion, and circuit protection mechanism triggering. The photoresistor is responsible for sensing the ambient light intensity. If it fails, it cannot accurately judge the changes between day and night, causing it to go out during the day; the battery may be completely exhausted if it is not charged in time for a long time; the circuit protection mechanism (such as overcharge and over-discharge protection) will automatically cut off the power supply when it is triggered.
4. The shell of the solar led road studs is damaged or leaking.
The reasons for this situation generally include the following three types: improper installation, external force impact, and poor sealing. The solar road stud is not properly fixed or sealed during the installation process and is easily damaged and leaking due to vehicle rolling or bad weather, which in turn affects the internal circuit and components.
When a solar road stud fails, it is necessary to consider many factors, from appearance inspection to professional repair. Each step is critical. In order to ensure the normal operation of the solar led road studs, it is also necessary to strengthen daily maintenance and care during use and conduct regular inspections and cleaning. These are all effective ways to prevent solar road studs from failing. If you have a fault that you cannot identify, please contact the solar road stud manufacturer in time to troubleshoot and repair it as soon as possible to avoid affecting normal use.
